Swan Lake Reimagined
Wild Heart Dance and Boulder Symphony’s reimagining of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake transforms one of the most iconic works in the performing arts canon into a mythic, feminist concert experience for contemporary dance and full symphony orchestra. Drawing from goddess mythology and contemporary ideas of feminine power, the work reframes the traditional narrative away from binaries of good versus evil and toward themes of agency, presence, and embodied wisdom. Rather than centering escape or tragedy, this Swan Lake embraces the coexistence of light and dark, offering a vision of divinity that is lived, human, and profoundly relevant to modern audiences.
